Hi,
Situation.........
Computer COMPAQ - desktop
OS = WIN98
Printer= HP1100
Xbase+++ 1.6 + Xtools
We have an application to print labels with logo, barcode and text.
When we sent the sellection to the printer connected to LPT1 port normally everythink is OK, nevertheless it takes extreme long time to print!!!! When more parallelports are activated via a plug-in PCI card and the printer is connected to LPT3 port the job +- 3.3 Mb is sent to the printer.
When more than 2 Mb is reached, the printer hangs. And the printjob is aborted.
It seems that doing the printjob via an older HP5P - HP6P the printerjob is exectuted rather fast after 10 - 20 sec. and everythik goes smootly.
Is it a matter of new generation of HP printers?
Why we have problems when LPT3 is used exclusively with an Xbase application en not at all with all other windows applications?
Wim
