printer status

How can i get printer status, is it on or off, or paper out without using syntax sys in visual foxpro, I use visual foxpro 6.0

Do you mean a status from "real hardware" printer or just from "Printer Spooler" ?

Unfortunately, PRINTSTATUS() and SYS(13) haven't worked properly since VFP 3 came out. About the only thing you can do to check if a printer is available is try to send something to it and trap for an error if its offline.
