Before everyone moans... I have read many previous posts on this topic, and many of the posts seem relevant. One of the links posted sent me to the MS page on being able to connect client printers to a Terminal session.
Here is my problem:
I have a user with a Laptop who works from home. She has an hp dj 990cxi connected via LPT1.
When she connects to our terminal server at work, she loses the ability to print to the local printer in the session.
MS says: If a printer driver is not found on the server, an event is logged and the client printer is not created. To make the printer available, the driver must be manually installed on the server.

So I downloaded the latest driver, but when I try to install to server, I get errors.

Does anyone know how I can do this, when the physical printer is not connected to the server??

Please help soon,

Will

1. Connect laptop to your network, share it printer.
2. On server Desktop click Start-> Run -> net use lpt2: \\laptop\sharedprinter
3. Click Start -> Setting -> Printers -> Add Printers ->Local Printer and setup printer driver.

If you have installed SP3 then you have now found the printer redirection bug. MS is working on it but no patch is available as of today. Some programs will print some will not including Office.

Thank you everyone. Odissey especially as these few steps were all I needed to complete the task at hand. All works fine now.
Thank you to bsneller for the heads up, though doesn't seem relevant at the moment, it is still interesting to know.

Will
