Hello...

When you print anything to a network printer using Windows 2000 pro, you get that notification that the job has finished.

Is there a way to turn that off? For the life of me I can't find a place!

Would appreciate your help

Thanks..

It's either in the printer's Properties/Settings tab, or in Network properties under the Novell client...Default capture tab... I think...

:)

Novell client???? No Novell here!

The server is NT 4.0

The printer is shared from the NT 4.0 server

The clients are mostly Win2K pro.

The Win2K pro machines are the ones that have that print notification!

You can turn off the messenger service in the services applet on the client or you can do it at the server level in control panel services. you would stop the same messenger service as the 2k pro client.

On your print server goto: Start\Settings\Printers then File\ServerProperties then goto the Advanced tab and uncheck "Notify when remote documents are printed"

If you are using NetWare - go to Control Panel\CSNW and remove check mark from Notify When Printed.
