print issues

looks like some software package is outputting a print job with an option of raw to the print spooler using an interface script that can't handle it.
If this is new, then might be time ot reload the interface. Ed Fair

That portion of the OS that handles the conversion from a text file to the hardware signals out.
In SCO , which is most of what I do, the conversions are handled by (or filtered thru) an interface script file. And that would be the part that would be reporting the error back.
The lp service would get a call like:
lp -dprintername filetoprint -o:raw or some such
and would process the printername script (which would at some point output the filetoprint to the hardware).
