Hi all,
I am using CR10. I have a report that has two sub-reports placed in it's detail sections.
Details a -> Subreport 1
Details b -> Subreport 2

When i run this report, all the pages in subreport 1 runs first and then second subreport show up. What I really need is Page 1 in first sub report , then page 1 in second sub report, and page 2 in first sub report and page 2 in second sub report and so on..

Is it possible ? Any way to control printing pages in different sub reports?
Thanks,

It sounds like you should revamp the data sources in the subreports to allow for this.

If you know that you're limited to just a few pages in each subreport, then you could place several detail sections and then conditionally suppress them based on the page numbers in each, so that detail A holding sub1 would have a suppression within each section of pagenumber <> 1. Detail B holding sub2 would have the same, then detail C would have sub1 again with a suppression of pagenumber <> 2, etc.

Using subreports in the details tend to be very slow, and this will slow it down even more. I would suggest trying to build a more suitable data source to avoid subreports if possible.

Thanks for your response. Sub report pages are limited to 10 pages each. But I do not want to create 20 detail sections :-( and suppress them conditionally.
I will try to take a different approach like you said,if there is no way of doing this.

Thanks,

Hi,
Subreports are, essentially, independent objects and will run when they are reached in the report without regard to any other subreport (it only 'knows' about the link you created in the main report - it has no way of determining that another sub even exists, much less interact with it)

Try using a view or SP to join the data tables and use the resulting object as the basis of your report.
