In Word 2002 I seem not to be able to instruct my monochrome laser printer to print color text as black. Whatever I do I get it as a shade of grey. Tried tools, options, compatibility (or similar - using german version) but all I get is grey. Any idea?

This is usually a property in the printer.

Otherwise, you could:

Save the file first.

Ctrl+a to select all in doc
Change font color to black
Print

Close the file and don't save the changes.

You could record a macro to do this for you. Anne Troy

Tks Dreamboat,

This was my assumption too, but I have a fleet of Kyocera monochrome laser printers and the XP-included driver does not support this feature. The answer was the KX Driver from Kyocera. The property is very much hidden but it is there and can be changed.

On a HP LaserJet 1200 the property is accessible using the MS driver too.
