PRI ISDN call connect failure, after ringing

Hi,

I have an experimental home setup with an ISDN PRI link between a Norstar Modular Plus and an Avaya IPv500v2 R9.1. The Avaya is setup as ETSI and as CO end, the Norstar as CPE end (which can't be changed).

I can make successful calls from a phone on the Norstar to a Nortel phone on a TCM port on the IP500, and also from the Norstar to an Avaya digital phone on an DS port on the IP500. That's ok.

But what doesn't seem to work is a call from the Norstar to an IP 9641G phone (H.323) on the IP500. The 9641G rings fine, but when you answer it the call drops immediately. The ISDN cause code in the Disconnect sent by the IP500 to the Norstar is 'No channels available', even though it was ringing fine, so no congestion. The IP Office licensing allows IP phones, and the IP phones work fine within the IP500, just when receiving calls from ISDN like this.

Any ideas why this might be? I've gone down the route of thinking VCM channels not working, or the phone is expecting to be secure and it wasn't configured, but (in my lay eyes) I can't prove that really. I can't try an IP phone in SIP mode as I don't have the SIP software package for Release 9.1 (can anyone point me to it? It's not on the Avaya site anymore, not for R9.1).

Many thanks in advance!

Is there a VCM card? I would try addressin the call in the ICR to a digital or analog device, did you?
