We just installed a PRI last week from Sprint (The local telco). We also have several different T-1's with FX's, etc. on them. The method of access has been to dial 81 for a local trunk, 82 for a dedicated access long distance trunk and 83 for a FX group to a nearby city.
I have two questions:
1) When we dial the access code to access the PRI we do not receive dialtone. The LEC tells us this is normal. It is a bit odd for our users. The calls still go through but dial tone would be usefull. Any suggestions??
2) Does the Norstar (6.1) have any sort of ARS/ LCR so we could dial 9 and 7 or 10 digits? Then rout the call to the appropriate trunk group. We have gne though the manaual and so far, can only find how you would do a co-ordinated dialing plan between two Norstars. Any suggested would be helpful.
