Prevent program modifications

Is there a file to make read-only or another way to prevent someone's Excel settings/options/configuration from being modified once they have it set exactly the way they like it? I have a couple of bosses who are frustrated that when they receive spreadsheets from others that they open, and when someone else uses their desk they come back to work and their Excel has been altered and they tell me about it, big time! What is the best way to prevent this type of occurence please?

You can use workbook and worksheet protection...

Thank you Skip, but all of the accountants/CPA's here really want their set for the 'program' not individual files. They use between 15 and 20 workbooks a day and setting each one, with hundreds to get to overall, is not an attractive prospect. It seems odd to me that there is not a file (like an old 'ini' type file that can be set to read-only. If you get any other thoughts let me know.
