Hi there,

Office2003SP1 running on WXPSP2, outlook2003 caching mode working with Exchange2003SP1 server.

After login to outlook & minimised it, I can click the outlook shortcut icon & launch another outlook, again after minimised it, I can click the outlook shortcut icon to lauch it again.

Wondering how can I prevent this happening? Because users are very confused which one to look into, and the problem is those users can't change the habbit of clicking outlook shortcut when they don't see outlook (they forgot it's minised rather than closed)

Many thanks!

Instead of trying to hack the system, spent more time on educating users, it pays off in the long run.
I've been there, it is unbelievable what users can get you to do, but ... don't give in to that, or they will never learn, and you will spent all your time managing workarounds.

Have a look at the shop @ !

I have the same setup (Outlook 2K3, WinXP sp2 w/ Exch2003), and if my Outlook is minimized - then I click my shortcut, it automatically maximizes my already-open instance of Outlook.

I think the main difference is that I do NOT have cached mode turned on. Is there any reason you need that? We've turned it off for everybody, it was giving us headaches. Try turning that off on a few of your machines & see what happens.

modify the shortcut to run outlook /recycle instead of outlook. I think this cures it.

thx so much zelandakh! "/recycle" works for me & exactly what i wanted! a star for you! thx again! ;-)
