I am trying to connect to my companies vpn. I am running the client on my pc behind a small router...no problem. I want to implement ip hardphones to connect to our local pbx. Since the phone can't run the pptp client, is there a router that will run the client and Nat out to the hardphone? I actually have a few devices that need to vpn in. i.e. a printer (so that employees on the lan can print to it), LDAP Directory access, etc. In a Linksys, it has pptp to an isp, but as I have read it is not the same. What is the difference? Is there a way to allow this GRE (pptp to isp) access to a checkpoint?

In the future everything will work...

Hi, have you considered using a small cisco pix 501? That supports pptp and l2tp and could work in place of your router. I am doing a similar thing and it works great!

[Phone]-----(Clear text VOIP)-----[PIX501]-----(PPTP encrtypted link-----[Corporate FW1]

I was hoping there was another solution. I have a Pix but wanted a less expensive solution

In the future everything will work...

the restricted bundle 501 is quite good value now. i am paying around £310UK per pix.
