I am attempting to setup PPP on an AIX system. The AIX install aspect goes fine. Now, Win98 I can setup the PPP connection and connect fine, when it asks for the password I cannot type anything. I dont think it is an AIX issue cause I can connect fine and type the username and password fine in windows 2000. It has to be a win98 issue. any Ideas? James Collins

The issue may be to do with the way DUN works with PPP, that is that it expects PPP to be running at logon, whereas AIX only starts it after logon. Although this link is for Solaris, I don't see why it shouldn't hold true for AIX, Win9x stuff is at the bottom of the page
This link describes in (minute) detail how to set up PPP access for a particular system, but again may be of help
Hope this helps

Thanks Pual. I will tey it Fri morn. I have been racking my head for days on this one. I knew it was in the DUN somewhere. I did not think of log on to network. Thanks James Collins
