I have a powerpoint presentation which contains hyperlinks to a fair number of Word and Excel documents.

They all resided on the same server: \\Server1\Data

I have put them on a new server: \\Srv1\Data

Unfortunately, all the hyperlinks are still looking for the UNC \\Server1\Data

Is there a way I can update them all en masse to point to \\Srv1 instead?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sunny,

i tried using the replace-option (Ctrl + H) with hyperlinktexts and it worked fine.

Greetings Dutch

Find and Replace doesn't work.

I don't mean the text that's displayed on screen, I mean the underlying hyperlink itself.

For instance, I might have this displayed on screen:

And the hyperlink points to \\Server1\Docs\Document.doc

Doing a find and replace will change the text displayed on screen:

but it won't change the underlying hyperlink.

I have tried this on Powerpoint 2003 and Powerpoint 2000.

Thanks for replying though! Any other ideas?

SunnyByfleet (is it?)

You can fix links in a presentation by having a read of this page

See "Fix Links"

I'm not sure if the fix links pro will fix your hyperlinks.

Another option you could try...is round tripping!
This involves no drugs.

Save the presentation as a HTML file.
Then using your favorite html/basic text editor do a find and replace for Server1 for Srv1

Save the file.
Open the HTML file back into powerpoint
Save as a normal .ppt file

See if it's worked

Thanks for that useful post. I hadn't considered the HTML route. :)
