Is there still a download available somewhere for the
PowerPoint Animation Player for ActiveX? It used to be
but the page
is no longer available.

My PowerPoint presentation still plays smoothly on my own
computer
[ then click "Sales" and page down to view show]
but when I tested it from another computer, it wouldn't
work.

I want to place the PowerPoint Animation icon on the page,
so users can download the player. I've searched the
Microsoft website and can't find it.

Sorry if the answer to this was already posted, but the TekTips search function was being worked on when I tried to use it.

Thanks so much,
Paula

hello

found this from google (includes instructions)

Instructions for viewing the Slide Show

System Requirements: Computer with Windows 95/98/NT
Please click on the following files and save them your disk axpub.exe, axplayer.exe

Please keep track of the disk drive and the folder that you are saving these files to.
Exit out of Netscape/IE.

Start Windows Explorer and click twice on axpub.exe to install the player.
Click twice on axplayer.exe.

Restart Netscape/IE.
You may delete the files (axpub.exe, axplayer.exe) once you have installed them.

Once the Player is installed or if you know you already have the MS slide show player installed; follow this link to the slide show.

Thanks, fraiNbreeze,

Now is there anything for Win XP? I tried Google, as well, but it looks like you searched more efficiently.

I created the PowerPoint pres in either PP 97 or 2000--I can't tell.

Thanks again,
Paula

I feel like a real dweeb. I realized I didn't make it clear that this is for PowerPoint to be played on the web. When I reread my original letter, it looks like I could have meant I was trying to transport PowerPoint through email or something.

What I have is a webpage with an animated PP pres I created from a wizard that allows conversion for web. It used to work fine, but I think coding has changed. There was an animation player viewers could download so they could then view the presentation on the web, and that's what was found on the original site I listed: The page no longer exists, so I'm wondering if there is anything like it anymore.

Anyone know about this?

Thanks,
Paula
