I have seen this mentioned many times about a power saving feature in XP for nic cards, well i have yet to find it i am using a netgear FA310TX have went to device manager and properties of my nic card and there is nothing about power savings there, is this something that is card specific or am i missing a feature in XP? using XP Pro

It's not available for that NIC...it would be a seperate tab if you view the properties of the NIC under Device Manager. I have access to one and checked it out...

Correct. If you click on the advanced tab, there were three different properties you can change...this is all specific to the card...an Intel VE card I have has about 10 or 15 items to modify on the advanced tab, and it does have the power save tab.
