Power Point Sound Problem.

1. I have a slide show with narations on most slides.
2. Slide #2 has links to other slides in the presentation.
3. Mouse clicking on one of the links takes you to that slide. The "show" continues from this point with sound.
4. To return to the navagation slide (#2) the user types 2 and "Enter."
5. Clicking on one of the links again takes to a different slide but when you get there there is no sound.

Does anyone know a fix or work around?

How are you inserting the sound clips into powerpoint? Or did you "record narration" using powerpoint? I'm not a fan of that method.

I prefer "insert>sounds>from file". You can drag the little loudspeaker of the screen so nobody can see then.

That way you have full control over how and when they play, by using the "custom animations".

Another trick is to insert a blank slide just before the slide you are jumping to..then set the jump to jump to the blank slide. That forces powerpoint to play the next slide. As it will not reply a re-visited slides' animations the 2nd time.

What may be useful is to have a link on each slide that takes people back to slide 2, without them having to enter 2 and press Enter. Maybe place this "action" on the "slide master" so it appears on everypage. Maybe call the object "menu". We have done something very similar in this tutorial

It's for ppt 97/2000 so some of the menus are different.
