Power Point Control Toolbox 1

Anybody knows how the Control Toolbox is used in PowerPoint 2000?
In Word and Excel, you can switch between design mode and runtime more, but I don't see that in PowerPoint :-(
Also, I have put some text boxes on the cover page and would like to get them filled via a macro; The question is, how do I address them? ActivePresentation.txtAuthor or the like does not seem to be accepted.

Controls (activex, shape) work in slideshow mode, help files show how to access such items as slide, shape etc. in this mode. However, changes made in this mode remain in design one.
Normally, powerpoint does not contain any document modules. They are added when a contol is added to a slide. Unlike excel or word, powerpoint does not show presentation (as whole document) module.
Depending on when you need to access a control, you can create presentation, add slides, add shapes to slides, or when run slideshow, in slideshowview access slide nad shape.
For shapes, you can write macros in standard module(s), and assign to shape in powerpoint interface. The little problem is with shape name, powerpoint creates it automatically and you can't see it. It is possible to record simple macro, as move shape, and check shape's name in recorded file. Next, with vba, it can be renamed or reused.
Partly, design mode in powerpoint means designing presentation, run-time - slide show. (Partly - as it is possible to create & run macros while designing presentation, it is also possible to trap application/presentation events with handlers in class modules.)

I think I understand a little better now the philosophy of PowerPoint.
The problem for me arised because I am required to compose a CoverPage for all the Office Templates used in the company I'm currently working for.
The cover page macro is used to populate the cover page as well as the document properties.
Whatever presentation it is, they want to have a reference cover page per department.
I will try like you said to record a macro and move some ToolBox shapes and see how they will be called (I should have thought of it).
I will probably come back here for some more questions, but for now, your star is in place

Thanks for the star, can't you just prepare templates for each department with some predefined items?

Each author need to edit the version, subject, title, etc depending on what the presentation is about.
Those are changing factors that need to be edited on both the cover page and the document properties.

By the way, I have created a form, made a macro that loads it (myCoverPageFiller.Show) and assigned a button for that macro. It does not show the form :-(
You know what? PowerPoint really sucks.

What is the code? Is it in command/menu bar? Any message here? What about security level?
I would rather think of add-in, a procedure named Autpen in add-in is the only one that executes automatically.
There you can create/delete custom command bar or item to add data to active presentation, or automate powerpoint (add class module containing 'Withevents ppApp as Powerpoint.Application with necessary event handlers).
I will be able to return to this thread next week.
