Ok, I know this is a simple stupid question but I can not figure it out. When I shut down WinXP It goes through the usual procedure but then I get the message it is now safe to turn off your computer. I want to have the computer automatically shut off. How can I fix this?

Also... I need a WinXP driver for an IBM flatbed scanner...there is no model number on it... Its just a generic black IBM flatbed color scanner. Does anyone know where I can get a driver?

Right click Desktop, click Properties

Under the screen saver tab should be an option for Power.

Click to enter the power options. There should be a tab for APM (Advanced Power Management), select this an review the options.

If there is no APM tab, you may have to enable it in the system bios. Be careful in the area.

Sorry, but don't know about the driver file.
