Does anyone have a power down process for an Option 61C (AC system that I suppose is really a CS1000M)?

I believe there is a main circuit breaker in the pedestal (rear), but thought maybe this breaker was not to be used. I believe there are also breakers in the CPU cabinets and possibly in the IPE cabinets.

Config is a single column with 2 CPUs and 2 IPEs. What breaker(s) need to be shut off in each?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

usually i ld 43 edd ld 135 scpu ld 43 edd, if rdun is enabled i power down the cpu's from the front panels. if the switch is dc, i always power down from the rear panel. after the cpu's are down, any other power down is optional. to power up a cold system, i power on everything except the cpu's, powering them on last. by doing that when the cpu's boot, they will see the network conf etc and bring them up. watch the boot with a pc plugged into the rear of the cpu's, that give's you something to do except hold your breath, and you can see if the software starts to loop..

btw in case someone hasn't done it yet, your term, connected to a paddle board will not see the software load. until the boot seq is complete the paddleboards are dead. j23 and j25 on the rear panels are hot from power up. those plugs are the only ones you can upgrade from because of that.. after full boot only the active cpu will respond to that port,, (end of lesson)

Depending on how old the system is I would power down using the rear panel, AC or DC. Nortel had a trouble with some of the power supplies on the CE shelf and using the faceplate switch would not work when trying to power up.

i never saw that problem on an ac switch, but was a big issue on dc. power it down and it didn't come back up. i even removed and bypassed the on/off switch and it wouldn't come up
