one of my users has a Dell laptop that they took on a trip and forgot to take the "international" cable that plugs in the AC/Adapter into the outlet. The cable that came with the laptop is rated to 125v and the "international" cable is rated to 250 volts. THe Ac/adapter will dop the power conversion. he is not going ot be able to get a new cable where he is going how much if any damage will he do if he uses the standard cable?

Thanks

It's the watts or amps that count. Or maybe where the power is supplied on the plug prongs. If the power supply will autosense the voltage and compensate for the difference you should not have a problem.

Shouldn't do any damage to the cable. UL approval is for 125v but it is hipotted in excess of 600v for testing. Or at least they used to be.
