Posting in Wrong Period

What is the best way for correcting an entry that is posted in the wrong period? Specifically, a SO with inventory.
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Enter a credit and apply it to that invoice using the same date the invoice was entered and posted. Then enter in the correct period.
