Anyone have an opinion on using either SP3 or SP3 + post SP3 rollup on a new Exchange 2000 implementation?

I generallly don't like to install brand new SPs or rollups on production machines. But I'd be interested in hearing whether or not the rollup corrected many problems over SP3.

I would definitely recommend the rollup.... BUT it contains a lot of updates see KB 81340 (I think thats the number).

With regards to implementing this it will require you to test this in a lab environment as it updates Store.exe to 6396 and a lot of other components, this may have an affect on AV, faxination SW etc.

I would run with it but only after testing, if you are in a mixed mode environment then definitely go with it as it deals with zombie users (allows you to use the reg key fix, which is discussed in a KB) and generally improves PF and delegate access.

HTH,

Mark

I have installed Exchange2000-KB824282-x86-enu.exe (Post SP3 rollup). After rebooting, MS Exchange Information Store service will not start. I had to uninstall the rollup to start the Info Store again. I have Norton 8.1 running with SP4. Anyone had this issue with the rollup??
