I have a K6200 processor running WIN95 and a fairly normal set-up. 4GHDD, CD-ROM (both IDE). The system has the HDD as "C" and the CD-ROM as "D".

I recently installed a SCSI card and HDD. All worked as advertised with the new SCSI HDD being "D" and the CD-ROM now being moved to "E". The problem is that win explorer and My Computer cannot see the CD-ROM no matter waht I do. If I go to DOS and tyoe E:\ I can access the CD-ROM.

If I remove the SCSI HDD the CD-ROM goes back to being "D" and all works OK. If I now use device manager to re-assign the CD-ROM to, say, "R" and reboot, the device manager says the CD-ROM is now "R" but explorer and my computer can't see it.

Can anyone help

Mike

mtec -

Does the CD-ROM still show in Device Manager with no issues? If so, select the CD-ROM and remove it. You shouldn't have to restart. Hit "Refresh" a couple times. Win95 should re-discover it. If so, it will re-allocate resources to the CD-ROM. You may want to grab your CD-ROM driver disk just in case Win95 needs it for a re-install.

Hope this helps ~
