Is it possible to upgrade a Wall Mounted OPT11c to a CS1000 7.5?

i should clear up my question a bit.. My question is can it be done in the wall mounted cabinent?

Yep - depending on what release it is, the database will even be converted automatically during the uprgade process.

great thanks, have a few sites that we want to upgrade, but if it couldn't be done in the wall mounted cabinent, we didn't want to move forward on those sites.

The only limitation is you cant use the old style expansion cabinets that used the copper cable, the newer cabinets had the fiber expansion cabinets and all the cabinets were the same. I believe the part # is NTAK11XX

yes, cabinet dependent, but you should have no issues.

can you put the CPPM in the old style cabinet? OR can you load the 7.5 on the old SSC?

SSC cards are gone. You put in CPPM Call Server and Sig Server and MGC cards with DSPs replace the SSC/Fiber Receiver cards.

Look at the NTP: NN43041-464 PAGES 70-71. This will give you an understanding of what you will be changing out.

I uderstand the MGC cards I just thoiught you had to put in a MG1010 chassis or somehing similar for the CPPM or CPMGS ot what ever you use. Thanks, I learned something new!
