Hello,
We are currently backing up a number of servers with Commvault (500+). For the most part it runs well with no problems every night.
However lately we have been seeing some intermittent problems that appear to be network related. The error message we see can be found in the CVD.log file and is as follows:
Critical Network Error:: rc = 10054 ABORTING pipeline
Again, I realize this is likely a network error, but would like to know if anyone has seen this before and could give us an idea of what to look for on the network. The point it occurs at is right after the job finishes its scan (the first 25% of the job) and is preparing to load the backup media.
Not sure if this helps, but the actual text that I found for the 10054 error on-line is as follows:
Analyse & Solutions: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. This normally results if the peer application on the remote host is suddenly stopped, the host is rebooted, the host or remote network interface is disabled, or the remote host uses a hard close (see setsockopt for more information on the SO_LINGER option on the remote socket). This error may also result if a connection was broken due to keep-alive activity detecting a failure while one or more operations are in progress.
