HI
I have one more problem with the crustal reports ver 8.5. I hope some of you must have also faced similar type of problem.

I have designed a report which shows master row fields for first two rows. Then i included subreport which shows the detail records (detail records can be between 0 to 7). after subreport i have some more fields for master record.

When i place the subreport after calculating space for 7 details records and in case if their are only 1 or 2 details records associated then it shows a blank space in between subreport and lower master recorrd fields when i preview the report. If i put lower master record field just after calculating space 2 detail record then if their are more than 2 detail records accociated then details records move on the top of lower master fields.

Is their any way i can position lower master fields programetically so that the master field text will appear after calculating the no. of subreport rows.

Thanks a lot

johney

Don't try to leave space for your subreport based on any number of expected subreport rows. Place your subreport in a section by itself. Make the subreport height as small as possible and in Subreport Properties, check "Can Grow". Let Crystal do the hard work for you.

Thanks for your help earlier. As suggested by you in my order form i put in order details subreport and made it as small as possible and then i checked properties and checked "Can grow" (this is checked by defaul when i put subreport in main report). After that i put "Terms & Condition" field of main report below subreport and as close as possible. But still field heading & text of main report field mixes with subreport when i see preview report.

I think i may be missing something from what you have told.
Can you please elaborate a little more.

Thanks a lot once again,

Johney

The subreport should be in a section or sub-section by itself. You can subdivide a section (e.g. into Group Header a, b or Detail a, b) by right-clicking in the left margin of the section and selecting "Insert section below"

Hi Rogar
Thanks a lot for your timely help. It worked.

Rogar,

One more small problem. As i told earlier i have multiple subreports, after 1 of the subreports it breaks page and the main report information which i want to place below that subreportgets printed on next page leaving page after subreport blank.
Can we somehow print that information which is going to next page on the same page.
once again thanks in advance.
