POS Cash Register Software

Thanks in advance for any advice or leads you might have.

My project is re-writing a FoxPro 2.6 (Windows) application in VFP 8. This is for a state govt agency that does boat registrations.

One of the features I would like to include in the rewrite is POS. by that I mean a cash drawer attached to the PC and the ability to capture transaction data and journal all transactions to disk.

Does anyone have experience with a off-the-shelf cash register program that would interface with VFP, or the least capture data to a text file? Purchasing something and hooking into it would save my limited time.

I am only aware that there are many different POS cash drawer systems out there, and almost as many different approaches. I've been watching the threads on them since I'll probably be doing something similar soon, but I have no experience with it yet.

This looks like it would be an easy one to use from VFP:

It has a USB interface to the computer, and can be controlled through ActiveX.

I have written a POS application that is currently for sale... It interfaces with a cash drawer and a receipt printer, can even be a networked receipt printer and cash drawer.
