Hi

I have a new 2mb line going into a remote office and recently found out that it is being delivered as RJ45 , the router itself came with a dual serail card but it seems that the pinouts are denfinatly not rj45 , however there are 2 slots FE0/0 & FE0/1 can i use one of these for the 2mb connection from Colt and the other to the switch that the users will connect too ? , or do i need to buy a new card ? , thanks very much

From what you are saying - I am assuming you are in Europe and you have an E1 PRA circuit. I know Colt operate in Europe as I have an E1 with them. You need to contact them to make sure of this before proceeding

If this is so, an E1 (2MB) PRA terminates as an RJ45 cable and no, you will not be able to use either of your FE interfaces. You will need a PRI (Primary rate interface) for the router.

If you have further queries, pls post

cheers

Steve
