I have a port on my CSCO 3550 that blinks green most of the time and then for a few seonds will blink amber. I think I need to change the duplex and port spped.

I think i know the command for changing the duplex, but am unsure about the speed. could someone send me the commands to do both?

thanks in advance.

A port which occasionally flashes amber is telling you the port is seeing errors. Issue the show interface comand on the offending port and you'll probably see errors.

The errors can be generated by duplex mis-match so you should verify the duplex on the 3500 and whatever is connected to it are set the same.

From interface configuration mode:
speed <10/100>
duplex <half/full>

it could also be that the port is resetting because of spanning tree problems. do a show log and see if the interface is going down and then coming back up. portfast would bring it up quick enough to look like an occasional flash.
