port 139 open/how to i close it

Hi guys hope someone can help me.I have just take'in zone alarm off my system and put sygate back on when i went to grc.com to do a port scan it tells me my port 139 netbios is open the only things running in my task bar are the usb modem icon the sygate icon .avg antivirus and my connection icon or status box i have check everything i can think of but to make sure i went to symantec aswell and that says network vulnerability at risk and netbios availability at risk its doin my head in now and with havin a allways on line connection ie BB i just not sure what to do.Have checked allso any programs that could be doing it but nuffin any help would be great i have checked in network in control panel everything in there seems ok the only other thing that bugs me is this loadQM.exe whats that about ??... iam a newbie by the way

I guess your ISP requires you to use NetBios?
Unless you're doing some sharing...don't think you want it at all. (unless you're willing to share with ANYONE)
You left the grc.com site too quickly...he tells you how to do it in his Networking 101.

skkingy what you need is ProPort(I use V2.2 freeware) by the Digital Underground from Set it to Upon attack: Terminate Monitor: All Minimise: To system tray
Start it up every time your computer starts.
Great utility, shows all running processes and has easy start editor killer.
Zone Alarm
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (NetBIOS Name) from .......... Port xxxx , is usually a remote trying to get more info from your computa.
You've probably got a subnet or another computer net specified and are sharing it.
