POP3 Problem with PIX 7.2(2) ?

Dear All :
is there any problem with the POP3 and the OS 7.2(2) ?
because we have a lot of issues - sometimes the POP is working fine and sometimes is not working at all ...

is there any inspection configuration related to the POP3 ?

What issues are you having? What errors are the users seeing? No known issues that I know of.

authentication is being completed - but the emails sometimes are being downloaded and sometimes the clients are hanged ( as they are trying to download but failing ) ...

Cancelling the requests and retry again sometimes solves the problem !!

being with the POP3 Server without Firewall in-between never face the same problem !

no error message is being appearing ...

ESMTP? I am not sure about the PIX but in IOS Firewall code Cisco only added support for inspection of ESMTP in 12.3T (I think?). In earlier releases only supported inspection of SMTP. I remember when my ISP started using ESMTP and the IOS I had on my 837 ADSL router didn't support it so email was a bit intermittent for a day or so until I managed to upgrade the IOS.

I can't believe PIX 7.x has this problem though, maybe with 6.3(5) but not 7.x. Maybe try upgrading to 7.2(3)?. Have you had a search on CCO for bugs?
