I am using canned code to produce pop-up menus, and no errors appear that I can see, but I am getting user complaints. On *some* machines it appears the menus "lock-up" or get "confused" and otherwise become inoperable.

I can't see a pattern yet - could be the IE version, could be the code, or could be a user machine problem. Could you just please take a look at my page, mouseover the nav bar, and see how the menus work for you (especially on less than powerhouse computers or older IE versions). Please report anything back here. Thanks.

well, there's one pattern i noticed. the dropdown menus stay open if the mouse exits the menu area along the top. best shown by moving your mouse from below a menu item and then passing over the menu item to above it. the dropdown menu won't close. you have to place the mouse pointer over the menu and exit from the side or bottom to close it. certainly not good behavior. since the dropdown menu sits a little lower than the menu bar, even when moving the mouse from side to side, it can exit slightly above the dropdown portion, which again leaves it open.

I just viewed the site on an IE6, and when I mouse over, the links appear but when I mouseover the links, nothing happens...
Sometimes I get the yellow link-bgcolor, and sometimes I don't... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

This last is biggest concern, and it sounds like an IE6 problem. Has anyone had problems running scripts under IE6?

never had any problems running scripts on ie6 myself. the nature of the problem would suggest a design (or browser interpretation) issue rather than a bug issue. it's almost as if the text in the menu is a layer in itself, which is covering the layer that activiates the link and hover effect.

i did try it in three other browsers. does not work in ns6 (main menu shows but no dropdowns). works perfect in ie5. crashes ns4.08 (causes a divide error!).
