We have an older G3 system that currently dumps all calls to a line printer. Instead of going to a printer, I would like to capture that data using the serial connection of a computer.

I have tried several different com port capture software including just hyper terminal with no luck of seeing any data.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Unfortunately, I have very little money for this project so a nice call accounting suite is out of the question.

Thanks,
Andy

back in the day, when I used a serial connection, I would use hyper terminal to test the connection.

I had a hospital that had a similar request.
What we did was to use Procomm (software package (Cheap)) on a discarded pc connecting the serial port to the G3 in place of the printer. Just remember to enable the capture
function & have a lot of free hard disk space.
Then depending on traffic, close the file & copy it to another machine, enable the capture file once again.
Then take the captured file & import it into Excel &
happy accounting.!!!!!!!
