I have a Polycom (basic) with a bridged appearence to a 6408D+. We did this so that people can bring in more callers to their conference call.

The user can dial out but cannot accept incoming calls. I've changed the cov path and ensured that send all calls and call forwarding are not activated.

What happens when I call the number is that it goes directly to cover.

Am I missing something? I know it's really simple and I'm just going through a brain fart here.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

status the station just to make sure it's not forwarded or send-calls. Then do a list trace station xxxx (where x is the polycom) and call it. See what happens.

Thanks,
CJH

Analog phones only have 1 call appearance. If the polycom is station 1234 and is off hook. All incoming calls to 1234 will goto cover.

Have incoming calls cover to a digial phone. Or just call the digial phone, that has has more than 1 call appearance.

You can use the flash button to conference/transfer on a polycom. An easy way to fix your problems is to set up a meet me vdn. This way you don't have to conference everyone together.

They want to be able to have the calls dial into this Polycom so Meet me would not solve my problem.

This number is a DID.

I changed the coverage path to go to the digital phone this is bridged with and it still goes directly to cover.

I busied and released the phone...same thing.

I statused the phone but from my understanding you don't get an accurate status on analog phones.

Can you copy/paste the first screen of the polycom station setup?

Ok, I'm an idiot.

It works.

I created a new coverage path to the digital phone and gave the digital phone a coverage path that already exists.

I turned down the ringer on the digital phone and turned up the ringer on the Polycom so they'll not be confused as to which phone they need to answer.

I have three other conference rooms to do this for. Is there and easier way to do this? I was thinking call forwarding but I need the Polycom to ring.

Also, is there a way to make the Digital set not ring at all? I tried to look for the option but I can't find it.

Thanks for all your help. :)

To make a phone not ring - on page three of the station setup, you'll see the following:

[tt]BUTTON ASSIGNMENTS
1: call-appr Auto-A/D? n Rg:n[/tt]

The Rg stands for "Ring". Options are r=ring, d=delayed ring, a=abbreviated ring, and n=no ring.

BayAreaPhoneTech,

before doing as Susan told you, be sure to turn on "per button ring control" on the second page of the station screen, otherwise you wouldn't see these settings on the third page. :)
