Hi everyone,

I wrote this on a different forum and it was suggested I try this one. Here goes:

I can't, for the life of me, find installation information on how to install and administer the Polycom view station DCP 512. I have a Definity G-3 version 6 PBX and want to use the TN 2224 digital line cards. I am currently using a dozen Intel PC based video units and the video quality is good but the polycom view station, once installed and administered using the Tn2224 digital line cards, will give me up to 512K bandwith for a more "VCR" quality image.

If anyone has a similar setting and is familiar with how to administer (program) the TN2224 cards, along with any other info I may need, please let me know. I have searched the Avaya web page but I am not very familiar with the way the information is documented on it's web page. Thanks.

There is probably a few different ways to do this, but this is how I configured mine.

Select 4 digital ports. Add 8 data modules, the data module type should = pdm. These data modules are software only. There are two data modules for every digital port. The system will let you add a digital port to two data modules if you change “secondary data module?” to yes on one of them.

Next add a hunt group. In the “group extension” use an extension which is a DID, if you wish to receive calls on it. For the group type, change it to “ddc.” On the third page of the hunt group add the data module extension numbers.

Then physically wire the 4 digital ports to the DCP mux, which should be plugged into your video system.

For Cable-Guy,

That was awsome!!! I programmed it according to your instructions and was able to video the far end ...crystal clear image. How, and where did you get the documentation and knowledge to explain the usage, install, and programming of cards and features? I looked at the Avaya.com site but was clueless as to where to start. Again, thank you.
