first ipo installed everything went smoothly except:

these analog polycoms, i plugged in power then line chord to power source then to conf unit.

It is plugged into one of the analog phone ports on the combo cards

the polycom still does not work... anything im missing?

Check the analog port with a test set just to make sure. Polycom's are pretty straight forward.

i did not get any dial tone when i plugged my test set in... do i have to do anything in programming i might be missing

Nope. You shouldn't. Are you sure you are in port 7 or 8 of the Congo card? If so, go under extensions and make sure they are set to standard telephone vs. Fax/ive/etc.

combo card port 7 100% i tried port 8 as well with no dice

and it is set to standard telephone

is there anything else i can try before i rule it a bad card?

so my vendor told me i need to go to file->advanced->upgrade

but when i click upgrade it gives me an error that says all selected units failed to transfer

What password did you use? It's not Administrator.

that is what i used i know u arent supposed to put those on tek-tips but maybe u can sneak it in :) lol

if you are a law abiding citizen do u have a web link that contains it

lolol i figured out the "password"

that was a tough "password" to gues

thanks

so after upgrading to 8.0 still no dice... going to replace the card with a new one monday night, but anyone else have any ideas that might work before i replace??

it was a brand new card + this being my first ipo install i have a hard time believing that the combo card is bad and it is not just a mistake on my part.

Did you short circuit the port?
The IPO can not have that!
I worked with systems where you could do that and i was used to it.
So i did it once on an IPO and i was attacked by sparks :-)
It will break the port.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

how did you short the port??

and i never saw any sparks?

i do not believe the ports ever worked

going to swap out the card tomorrow

so replaced the card and phone ports worked, guess it was just a bad card

Those combo cards are very sensitive to shorting. I had it happen a couple of times. You won't always see sparks. It makes it hard to test the lines if you are using a test set because if you bump the leads together it is done!
