Points and pixels from what source and in what environment? In printing and typesetting, there are approximately 72 pixels per inch (72 points = .996", if I remember correctly). Different sizes of screens and different resolutions would make that all pretty much impossible to calculate. A 17" screen at a resolution of 800 x 600 would have a different number of pixels per inch than a 15" monitor at the same resolution. As well, monitor font sizes (like for vision impaired settings) would affect the size in some applications.
