I'm trying to find out whereabouts I am with regards to TDM time-slot usage. PBX is G3si R9.02, PPN+1EPN. I would like to find out how the general peak usage on the TDM bus (and usage on the EPN link) reasons being I'm currently unsure as to whether I need to upgrade to another EPN or whether capacity is still sufficent in the current setup. I have been looking at the "Port Network Load Balance Study Report" and "Blockage Study Report" and they seem to have all of the information on them that I need, however I can't seem to find any help in understanding the information being presented - any ideas?

Thanks muchly!

If you can't find the information you may want to ask Avaya to do a Traffic study. It takes a week minimum and give quite a bit of information. It will tell you if you need to increase the number of EPN's and other things. As an FYI, at any given time you can have a maximum of 241 calls in progress per port network (in a G3si this equals each cabinet). This (241) number is for each port network.

Post the "list meas blockage PN" and we'll tell you what it means.

I've tried to format the output so it's as readable as possible:

BLOCKAGE STUDY REPORT

Time Division Multiplexed(TDM)
Hour - Usage Peg Peak Blockage
1200 - 5460 10707 195 0
1500 - 2682 4900 106 0

Port Network(PN) Link
Hour - Time-slots Usage Peg Peak Blockage
1200 - 766 1207 1698 52 0
1500 - 766 1214 1484 50 0

I gather that the TDM section is for the TDM bus in either PN but unsure as to what it's telling me exactly, I assumed it would also have time-slots in there for both but it only has them for PN link. I know there are 483 time-slots (and I'm assuming that this is per PN) on the PN Link section is states 766?! Where does this come from and how does it tell me what my load is??

Thanks a lot for your help, our supporters aren't much use so it's finally great to find some decent advice!

Cheers!
