plugging 2 computers into my XP box 1

is it possible to set up a winXP box, which has 2 network cards, so that i can plug 2 other computers into it using crossover cables?

So far i have succesfully done it with one but am unable to set the second network connection to work at the same time as the first. The XP box is connected to the internet and i want the other 2 computers to share the connection. at the moment the IP address on the Xp box on the working connection is set to 192.168.0.1 and the other computer automatically obtains its IP, this all works fine. the problem is i cannot set the IP address of the XP box on the other network connection to 192.168.0.1 because it says that something else is already using this IP address, which is correct. I have tried bridging the two connections but this hasn't seemed to solve anything.

The reason i wanted to get all of the computers together is that i have a linux box running an apache webserver, on my network its IP address is 192.168.0.20, what i want to do is rather than connecting to the IIS web server on my XP box i want to route it throught to connect to the apache server on the linux box. I was hoping that by going to the my internet connection and going properties > advanced > settings and changing the name of the computer on the network hosting this servie to 192.168.0.20 would do the trick but it seems not. any ideas?

Two issues:

. If you are assigning static IPs, there are some subtle tricks to doing this under ICS:

. Your port forwarding should work if port 80 is then redirected to the static IP client. You might consider changing the IIs listening port, although it should not be necessary: (do this under Internet Services Manager -> Web Sites and Right-Click on "Default Website" and select properties... You should have an option to change the listening port under one of the tabs).
