I am trying to produce a chart that will display Projects milestones along an axis that plots when those milestones are achieved against the actual project.

I hav tried every conceiveable combination of data manipulation includion converting dates to Julian, then appending them to another table to draw the data from, and plotting actual numerical points along a manually created time line.

Nothing will produce the correct results!

If anyone has had success doing this please clue me in... I think I'm making it too hard or something.

this is really eluding me!

also i am able to dyamically compare monthly totals by year for man hours worked on projects, but can't seem to find the correct relation to compare actual and forecasted hours for the SAME year?

thanks!

Well, I can't help you. I do time series plots all the time. While I cannot say that I get it right on the first try without fail, simply setting the source to the correct query and checking the column (vs row) orientation of the data seems to work for me (date/time series in the first column).
