I'm trying to find a way to take information entered on an excel spreadsheet and have it placed within a floorplan in the correct position. I'm trying to create a tool for a hospital in which the unit secretaries can enter patient and caregiver info into excel and output the floorplan with this info in the corresponding rooms so that staff can locate patients easily.
One thing I have been working on is creating a simplified floorplan within Excel by resizing cells into a grid and drawing in basic walls; however, I would really prefer using an actual floorplan. I can either scan a floorplan I have or create one within Visio fairly easily. I have access to the entire Office Professional suite if another application would accomplish this more easily. I haven't found anything resembling a solution to this here or elsewhere, so if anyone has an inspiration I'd love to hear it!
