Almost everyone is this Forum seems to know a real lot about 2000 Server. I’m a trainee tech support technician at the moment and really want to learn how to understand the things you speak about. If anyone could tell me how they acquired the valuable knowledge i seek. I would really appreciate it or any other advice you may have to give.

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Better to attempt something great and fail, than to attempt nothing and succeed.

Mastering Windows 2000 Server by Mark Minasi has been an unmatched resource for me. Marc Creviere

There are few things you can do:

1. Buy some cheap PCs and set them up at home. Built the network and spend couple of hours. You will learn alot.
2. Mastering Windows 2000 Server recomended by FilthPig is good book. Windows 2000 Resource Kit is also very helpful.
3. Keep asking questions when you don't know or when you want to know.
4. Check this Forum!!!!!

If you're really want to learn, you will become an expert!!!Good Luck!

I agree with the last post. Set up a trial network I server 1 client machine and PLAY with it hands on is the easiest way to learn and if you get stuck with a problem look or ask this Forum.B-)

I agree with the first and last posts

I just started my Win2k MCSE exams today and have used both a home network and Mark Minasi's Windows 2000 Resource Kit. I got 780 on Windows 2000 Pro exam.
I do also administer some Win2k networks as well.

It is like math....
Practice, practice, practice until you are blue in the face.
The more you do it and understand what will happen if you change anything you will do great!!!
If you doubt ask, do research and Listen!
It is not a question of how much you know but where to get the answers. Hope this Helps
