I installed SQL 2000 Ent about 5 times already. But I can not have master database...
I have a Windows 2000 adv server with Sql 2000 Enterprise server.
I had no problem with installation. But when i open EM(enterprise manager) to have database, I can not login as using 'sa' username. I tried almost every setting, but not working at all. It keep saying login failed for user 'sa'. I checked client and server network utility setting and even registry setting. Anyway, when I installed SQL 2K to my old computer, it's working... so funny...
Can anyone help me or give me some feedback.
I have to setup this for my work very soon... ^^
Thank you.
JJ

Try to login using an NT administrator login rather than sa. When you install SQL Server 2000, the installation process automatically creates a login for BUILTIN\Administrators with sysadmin server role membership. The BUILTIN\Administrators login stands for the Administrators local group in your Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows NT server.

Check this article for more info including a TIP about how to get into SQL Server if you've locked yourself out.
