I want to execute a program (executable file) when I logon to my machine . I have a .cshrc, .login file.

Upon logon, CDE comes up. I want the program to be executed soon after the CDE comes up.

The OS on my machine is SunOS 5.7.
Please help.

Thanks

I would suggest you write a script which looks to see if CDE is running under your UID and if so runs the program you want to run, and if not fails with a reason. Put that script in your .login file so that when you login it will look for CDE and run (if CDE is running). d3funct

The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.

Dear friend
At the end of login file type
sh script_filename or
chmod 777 script_filename and then put this line in .login file.
