I've been tearing my hair out on this one for weeks, so ...HELP PLEASE!!!
I am using Crystal Reports 8.5, and Crystal Enterprise.
I create reports from my PC (logged on as CGAGNON), then bring them into Crystal Enterprise for the users to run.
Even though the reports are using the same ODBC to access AS/400 data, some of them seem to have a User-ID attached to them, and some don't.
I can't figure out what determines whether or not the User_ID gets populated (i.e. from Crystal Reports...Database...Set Location).
This is causing me a problem when the users try to run reports from e-portfolio.
Crystal Enterprise is installed on the IIS, which is logged on as HCWEB.
When I publish the reports, I go into the DATABASE tab and change the Logon Name to HCWEB, since I want everything to run under that profile.
The problem occurs when a user tries to run a report that has CGAGNON as User-ID (as seen thru Crystal Reports). A prompt comes up on the IIS to enter the password; unless someone sees the prompt and enters logon info, the user times out and cannot get the report.
Whenever I reboot the IIS,I log on as HCWEB, then I run a Crystal Report accessing data on the AS/400. I get prompted for logon info, and I log on as HCWEB (providing a password). The report runs, and the logon info gets cached on the IIS, so the users should not be prompted when they run reports.
As I said, all works fine until the user tries to run a report showing CGAGNON as User-ID.
If I could get rid of the CGAGNON User-ID from my report, all would work fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
