All,

I've a feeling I've missed the obvious on this one...

VM Pro 4.2

I want to set up a play configuration option which is accessible through a DDI. I've got a menu which takes the callers extension number and I can pass that to the play config menu using $KEY as the mailbox number without a problem.

However I want to protect the option with the pin of the mailbox being altered and putting $ into the pin field on the general tab doesn't seem to work.

I almost certain I've done it before but I can't remember how.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew

OK;

Make a module > add a "Menu" and add $ in the touchtones
Connect it to a "generic" and add CP0:$KEY in the specific tab. Then connect it to "Play configuration Menu"

Create an ICR to VM:modulename

Now the pin is the extensions voicemail code.

Thanks for your reply. I am sure your solution works but I can't make it work and I can't understand why.

How does setting $CP0 to $KEY make the 'play configuration menu' option know which pin code to ask for?

Make sure its in "Intuity mode"
That's why in Release 6 they changed the name to "Personal Options Menu" It in the manual. Open the "Personal Options Menu" and press F1.

You could also use the "Get mail" action in R6 and tick the option "Provide Advanced Personal Options"

Provide Advanced Personal Options: Default = Off. Voicemail Pro 6.0+. Intuity mode only.
If selected, the user is able to access a number of additional options with the mailbox telephone user interface.

· Voicemail on/off.

· Voicemail email mode.

· DND on/off.
· Follow Me.

· Forwarding.

· Edit Voicemail.
· Edit Callback Number.

· Edit Mobile Twinning.

Thanks again. I'm 4.2 and in IP Office mode which explains why it doesn't work.

The "Play configuration Menu" works on R4.2 no problem.

Do it like above and it should work.

Otherwise try this link, import it and cut out what you don't need.

Thanks for the module.

OK now I am being really stupid. I added a $ to the pin code field on the play config menu and it asks for a pin but it doesn't accept the pin for the mailbox entered (stored in CP0).

I know the pin is correct because I can use it with a get mail action.

If you want to give up on me ever following this then that's fine, I understand.

Thanks

Andrew

Several versions ago there was a bug where if you did not have a timeout option on the menu action pointed to something it would not work. Try adding a timeout option to the menu and looping to the start of the menu.

By default it should ask you for your password once the $KEY is passed to the Play Configuration Menu (at least it does in Intuity mode)

Start Point > Menu Action with timeout connected to something (play 223.wav "Please Enter Extension") > Play Configuration Action with $KEY

Also add a $key.wav in the generic to hear the keys your pressing.

Hmmm... Im trying this remotely as well because I am looking at this of a customer as well.

The "$" in the PIN field is looking for YOUR voicemail pin code and not the PIN from the CP0:$KEY mail box

e.g

if you call internally from 210 and access 201 extn, the PIN from 210 is passed via $.

ring in from a DDI and it will ask over and over for a PIN regardless of what you set on $KEY entry (201)

That's exactly the situation I have and the one I am trying to solve.

Thanks

Andrew

i found if you put <number>$ e.g 0$ it will prompt for access code press 0 then ask again for access code followed by # and tends to work.

I had this working this way, restructured my menu and then its stopped working again!

ok - must be a bug

in the pin field, just add any old number - e.g 0

mail box fixed to a remote user

dial from my ext *93 to access the VM Module

"please enter access code"
press 0
"please enter access code press # when finished"

now I have access to the remote user features.

OK -

Idiotic

leave the field BLANK - since you are remotely accessing the mail box with a PIN set in Manager on the users VM Tab then it will prompt you for a PIN code anyway!
