i created a nice gradient in photoshop, flattened it, saved as eps, but when i place in InDesign Cs it shows up as a bunch of black dots.......what happened?

placing an eps file created in photoshop

Right-click on the graphic in InDesign and choose hi res display.
There are some EPS settings that you missed from Photoshop but the hi res display in InDesign should compensate if you do not want to save from Photoshop again.
