Hello,

I am evaluating the PIX 515e firewall but I have a few questions. I hope someone can help.

1) Can the PIX really do route-based VPNs?

2) What is the underlying architecture, PC-Based?

3) Can the PIX priortize traffic usage?

Thanks,

1) Do you mean one remote subnet is via one VPN and another via a different one, Yes.

2) Yes, to a certain extent.

Technical Specifications

Processor: 433-MHz Intel Celeron Processor
Random access memory: 32 MB or 64 MB of SDRAM
Flash memory: 16 MB
Cache: 128 KB level 2 at 433 MHz
System bus: Single 32-bit, 33-MHz PCI

But that does not mean that you can get a clone PC and run the Cisco code on it.

3) No
