i have a pix 506e and when a client disconnects his vpn session it messes up the rest of the the internal users. This has never happened before and it's really confusing. Has anyone ever experienced a problem like this??

I've got a VPN Client to PIX setup and I had some problems with the VPN client locking up when it disconnected. It seemed to fix itself when I updated the PIXOS and Client so they were both on the newest available version.

I think it was a conflict with the client and PixOS that made it difficult for the session to end properly, but I couldn't find it documented anywhere.

Hope this helps.

i found my problem i think. i have an internal syslog server and i stopped the service on that when i was changing some things around on the box. when i took out the syslog statement from the pix it quit locking up after i disconnected. Strange....

i had a simular problem are you logging with udp or tcp?

cisco told me that with FOS 6.x if the pix looses contact with the syslog server via tcp it can and will lockup

they suggest using udp to work around the problem

Yup, true....but this is not an error/bug. it is supposed to do that when u use TCP for syslog.
